In fact, Likert scales are great for learning about your business if a question, and an answer, it won`t cut. When it comes to the Likert response scale, you have to make two decisions. A Likert scale is a question that is a five- or seven-point scale. The choice ranges from strong approval to strong contradiction, so that the creator of the survey can have a global look at people`s opinions. The concepts of the central trend are often applicable at the item level – that is, the responses often show a near-normal distribution.
The validity of these measurements depends on the type of interval underlying the scale. If the interval type is accepted for a comparison of two groups, the coupled t-sample test is not inadequate. In retrospect, it was recognized that the satisfaction issues of the Ohio Youth Scales (Ogles et al., 2004) did not provide an optimal assessment of patient satisfaction for the PACK and MaPS Teen IOP programs, as the program was designed to be highly standardized and structured, while three of the four Ohio Youthales Satisfaction questions specifically addressed the level of input information perceived for scale treatments.
